Kisii Church & Community Centre Build 

MCC Kisii is a large church situated in an area of the city where many families face significant challenges and live in great need. 

The church, led by Bishop Elisha, had a bold vision: to create a community hub that could offer daycare, education programmes, outreach, and a wide range of community support services. 

When Open Road Prophets visited to assess the facilities, the church and community centre were already well underway, but progress had been limited by a lack of funds. 

Helping those in need

The building remained incomplete, and the doors could not yet be opened to the local population who would benefit so greatly from its services. 

Recognising the potential impact, Open Road Prophets stepped in to provide the necessary support to complete the project. Our assistance enabled the inclusion of a biodigester system to manage waste sustainably and improve hygiene for the building's operations. 

We also repaired the roof to protect against heavy rainfall, a critical concern in the region, and oversaw the completion and tiling of the upper parts of the structure, ensuring the building was both functional and welcoming for the community.

Once the construction and finishing work were completed, we were able to return to MCC Kisii to celebrate the opening of the centre with a community day. 

The event brought together over 300 local people for a day of fellowship, food, and fun, marking the official beginning of the centre's service to the community. 

It was a joyous and powerful moment, reflecting the church's vision and the tangible impact that the completed facility will have on families, children, and individuals in need. 

The project demonstrates how practical support, combined with vision and local leadership, can transform a community. 

MCC Kisii stands as a hub for education, care, and outreach, providing hope, opportunity, and a safe space for people in one of the city's most challenged areas. Through this partnership, Open Road Prophets has helped create a lasting resource that will serve the community for years to come, offering both physical infrastructure and a foundation for social and spiritual growth.
