Kisii Prison Period Products Initiative
When Open Road Prophets visited Kisii Prison for the first time, we asked the chaplaincy team what areas needed the most support.
One of the most pressing challenges they highlighted was access to period products for the women. These essential items are not supplied by the prison, meaning that without external assistance, many women go without.

Helping those in need
Recognising the impact this has on dignity, health, and wellbeing, we committed to supporting the prison in meeting this vital need.
In addition to period products, we have extended our support to the children living at the prison with their mothers. This includes providing nappies and infant formula, ensuring that these young children have their basic needs met in an environment where resources are limited.
By addressing these fundamental requirements, Open Road Prophets helps to improve the daily lives of both women and children within the prison. These efforts, though simple in nature, make a significant difference, providing comfort, dignity, and care while fostering a sense of hope.
Through ongoing collaboration with the chaplaincy team and prison staff, we continue to identify and respond to areas where support is most needed, helping to create a safer and more supportive environment for all.
"We continue to strive to make every effort that the needs of these women are met and that their dignity is protected."
